“…The Syriacs are a group of ethnic Syrian Christians and are one of the oldest civilisations on the planet. In January 2013 the Syriac Military Council (known as the MFS) was formed. As of today, it is part of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) - a coalition in the fight against the Islamic State. The MFS consists of approximately 1000 fighters 70% of which are Christian. The remaining 30% consists of Kurds, Arabs and three foreign volunteer fighters.”
